Advent calendars have been popular since the early 1900’s. There is history behind the calendars but in short, they were used to count down for Christmas.
They can be found as calendars, stand up images and in this version as a book. This book advent calendar can be stored and used Christmas after Christmas.
This is my version of the Advent Calendar Book and was inspired by May May.
This advent book is made by using chip board that has been covered with Christmas themed Designer Paper. A ribbon is used to secure the book when it is closed.
The inside panels of the book have a grid panel both on left and right hand side of the book. This grid offers a place for each of the 24 boxes to live.
The little boxes open upward and in each box a small treat can be found each night beginning December 1st through Christmas eve. The boxes are made of black Designer Series Paper. Each box has a number that represents the number of days until Christmas.
The back looks like the front except it is not decorated. of course it could.
This is the selection of the Christmas Designer available for the cover of the Advent Calendar Book. Options are available while supply lasts.
Three options are available for you to get an Advent Calendar. They are available until November 4, 2021
- You can order the PDF for $12.50. The PDF includes written instructions with pictures to make your Advent Book. This option does not include any materials. It does offer a supply list that could be useful if you need to order supplies. The PDF can be mailed by regular mail, can be emailed (what I recommend) or can be done in “Porch Pick Up” fashion.
- You can order a kit for $25.00. The kit would include the PDF and all supplies needed to make the book except front cover decorations, ribbon and treats. You would also have to use your own adhesive and basic tools. The kit would include your choice of designer paper, chipboard, paper marked for the grinds, all 24 boxes cut and scored (you would fold and assemble), and stamped numbers with decorative box plates.
- Already made Advent Calendar books can be purchased for $50.00 each and would take 2-3 weeks to be completed. A limited number of books can be ready made.
