How I used ovals and zig zags to create an Easter Card.
Materials I used:
- 1/2 sheet of Basic White cardstock (159276) measuring 8-1/2″ x 11″. With 8-1/2″ side facing upward score at 4-1/4″.
- A 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Blushing Bride cardstock.(131198).
- Largest die from the Scalloped Contour dies. (155560)
- a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock (159276).
- 2″ x 4″ piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock (146990)
- A 1-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of green DSP from the Dandy Designs featured in Sale a-bration campain.
- Framed Florets Dies (160062)
- Biggest Wish Stamp set (155052)
- Basic Borders Dies (155558)
- A 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock (159276).
- A 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Highland Heather DSP .
- A 4″ x 1″ strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock (119683)
- Pastel Pearls (154571)
- A 2″ x 5″ strip of Highland Heather cardstock
- Memento ink (132708)
- Medium envelope
How I created:
- I cut and scored the 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of Basic White cardstock to create the A2 card base.
- Using the largest of the Contour dies I cut a scalloped layer out the Blushing Bride cardstock.
- I adhered the 1-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of green DSP to the 2″ x 4″ piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock
- Then adhered the green layers to the 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock. The layers were adhered in somewhat of a diagional way. The corners of the green layers that overlapped the edge were cut off.
- The white and green layers were adhered on top of the scalloped layer and finally adhered to the card base.
- I used an oval die from the Framed Florets to cut an oval from the Highland Heather DSP and from the 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock.
- I used the zig zag shaped basic border die to cut some zig zag strips from the Highland Heather cardstock. I used these zig zags to decorate the white oval.
- I the adhered the ovals onto the layered card base. The idea was to use the ovals to look like Easter Eggs.
- I also used the Pastel Pearls to decorate the white egg and embellish the card.
- The sentiment “Happy” from the Biggest Wish stamp set was stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock that was then adhered to a banner created from a strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock. This layered sentiment was adhered in the top right corner of the card
