Saturdays here at the Paper Motif, are set aside to use up scraps or stash. This time offers an opportunity to be creative with scraps of DSP or pieces of card stock These scraps are normally smaller than 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ or they are remaining pieces of retired DSP/ card stock. Also these creations are opportunities to use embellishments from my stash bin. It is so satisfying to use the scraps or stash instead of throwing it away. Of course some scraps are so small they must end up in the trash bin.
What better way to use up scraps or stash than with a card sketch. For the cards I created this Saturday I used a card sketch from Sugar Sketch SPDSS23. (These sketches are available for free online.)
Sometimes (often) I modify the sketches but love how a simple sketch can spark all kinds of ideas.
Below are some cards I created referring to this card sketch
I used Scalloped Contour Dies (#155560), DSP from Dandy Designs, flowers punched from the Country Petal Park Punch (#160575), scraps of Basic White card stock (#159276), and Gold Swirls as embellishments. The Gold Swirls have retired but you could use any shiny embellishment. To create your card, use what you have. If you don’t have the Scalloped dies I highly recommend them.
This card was all about using up scraps from the Dainty Design DSP that remained in my scrap bin from Sale a-bration. This campaign ended in February. The flowers used to decorate the sentiment box are cut outs from the Framed Florets DSP. I fussy cut some butterfies from some very retired Butterfly DSP.
This card uses up some card fronts I made in early spring, using the Lovliest Decorative Layered Masks that are on the last chance list. I absolutly used these masks (stencils). I sprinkled the card with some more of those flower arrangements I cut out of the Framed Florets DSP. The green ribbon from my stash bin finishes the card. Yay!
I wasn’t overstating when I stated that I used the Lovliest Decorative Layered Masks. One of the layers on this card was also created with one of the masks from the set. Again, I used some of those very buetiful flower arrangements from the Framed Floret DSP. The bling was also from my stash bin.
