It isn’t a secret that I do not feel good when thinkinking about throwing away usable scraps or items in my stash bin. So, once a week I try to use up my scraps and/or stash to make a card or project.
This month of September I am dedicating to All Things Christmas”. I usually give a few gift cards out for Christmas and I love to make cards to house the gift cards. Here are some gift card holders I made using scraps (that maybe retired) and stash.
Realize that you can use your choice of cardstock, Designer Series Paper and stamp set you desire.
This is a picture of the outside of th card.
This is a picture of the insude. You can see how nice the gift card fits.
You will need:
- 1 piece of cardstock measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″. With the 11″ side facing upward score at 5-1/2″. Then fold and secure the fold with a bone folder. This will become your card base.
- With the 11″ side of this cardstock facing upward on your trimmer cut at 2-1/2″. The 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece you just cut will be the layer for your sentiment. The short side of your card base will become the front of your card.
- A piece of Basic White cardstock that measires 4″ x 5-1/4″. Stamp your inside sentiment and adhere to the inside of the card base.
- You will need a scrap of Designer Series Paper that measures 4″x 1″ to decorate inside of card. Adhere this to the inside to decorate.
- One piece of the same Designer Series Paper that measures 2-3/4″ x 4″. This piece of DSP is adhered to the 3″ x 4-1/4″ front of the card.
- You need a 2″ x 3*3/4″ piece of Basic white cardstock With the long side of the Basic White stamp your sentiment. Leave room to decorate with ephemra or maybe a die cut. Now adhere this stamped sentiment strip onto the 4″ x 2-1/2″ piece of colored card stock- mine wasred. You will want to make sure the layered sentiment strip is in landscape orientation.
- You will need dimensionals to adhere the left side of the layered sentiment strip to the layer front of the card. Apply the demionsionals only to the back of the left side of sentiment strip so the sentiment strip is not adhered to the inside of the card.
- You should have a piece of DSP that measures 2″ x 3/3/4″. On one end with a circle die or punch cut a portion of a circle so pulling out the gift card is easy. Place tear & Tape on the back of the DSP on the 3 sides that don’t have the circlr punched out Make sure the trer & tape is placed close to the edges of the DSP. Then remove the release paper and adhere to the short side of the inside of the card. This will become a pocket for your gift card.
Npw your card is ready for you to personaloze. This design is great as it hulds the gift cards.
Remember you can change the theme of the card simply by changing cardstock and DSP. You can find DSP and cardstock in my online store. Thank you for stopping by.
