The Pocket Tag Gift Card Holder

The Pocket Tag Gift Card Holder is easy to make and can be used for any occasion.

Here is what you need to make this gift card holder:
  • A 3-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ piece of cardstock of your choice. with the 8-1/2′ side facing upward score at 3-1/2″.
  • A strip of DSP that measures 1-3/4″ x 3″
  • A piece of the same DSP that measures 3″ x 4-3/4″
  • A piece of the same DSP that measures 3″ x 3-1/4″
  • A piece of cardstock (I used Basic White) that measures 4-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
  • Tear & Tape
  • About 7″ twine or ribbon that coordinated with cardstock and DSP
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Scoreboard unless you trimmer scores
  • Liquid glue
  • a bone folder
  • A hole punch
  • Glue dots
  • a gift card you choose ti share.

 

To complete:

  1. Fold the 3-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ piece of cardstock on the scoreline and secure with your bone folder.
  2. You will have a side that is longer  and that will be the back of the pocket you are creating. The short side is the front of the pocket. To create the pocket place some tear & tape on both right and left side of the inside of the shorter side. Make sure the tear & tape is as close to the edge as possible. Then remove the release paper of the tear & tape. Fold over onto the back of the pocket. Now you have created the pocket.
  3. Adhere the 3″ x 4-3/4″ of DSP to the back side of the finished pocket.
  4. Adhere the 3″ x 3-1/4″ DSP to the front of the completed pocket. Now the pocket is complete.
  5. Take the 4-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and  with the 2-3/4″ side facing upward, round the corners.
  6. On the same side you just rounded the corners use your hole punch to punch a hole in the middle of the piece of Basic White cardstock.
  7. Insert your twine or ribbon in the hole you just made and tie a bow.
  8. At the bottom of the tag you just made adhere the 1-3/4″ x 3″ piece of DSP to decorate.
  9. Place a glue dot on the back of your gift card and attach to the tag you made.
  10. Insert the tag with the gift card in the pocket that you created.

You can insert this pocket gift card holder inside a card, adjust the ribbon and attach to a gift bag or  hang on the Christmas Tree or place in a Christmas Stocking.

This easy gift card holder can be used for a birthday, graduation, and Christmas. The DSP will defintely dictate the occasion.
