This little box shaped like a tree can be placed in a Christmas Stocking, place on someone’s coffee   table,  or given as an act of kindness.

Here is how I made the box.
  • I cut one strip of Shaded Spruce cardstock that measured 1-3/4″ x 10-1/2″
  • With the short side facing up (using my trimmer) I scored at 1-1/2″.
  • Rotating the card stock so the long side was facing upward I scored at 3-3/4″, 7-1/2″, and at 10″
  • With the long side facing upward and the 1/2″ scorline facing down miter on the score lines. By that I mean cut a “V” shape on the score lines from the bottom of the strip up to the first horizontal scotre line.
  • With the horizontal scoreline facing downward cut out the small square that is created by the two scorelines
  • Now cut another strip of Shaded Spruce so it measures 1-3/4″ x 10″.
  • With the short side facing upward score at 1-1/2″.
  • Rotate so long sies are facing upward. Score at 3-5/8″, 7-/4″ and 9-3/4″/
  • Secure all fold lines/

This is what my strips looked like.

  • Now using the largest tree stamp from the Merriest Trees stamp set stamp on a piece of Basic White cardstock. You will need to do this twice.
  • I used Shaded Spruce ink but you can use what ever color you want
  • Then use the largest tree die from the Merriest Tree dies to cut out both trees.

  • Now form triangles with the scored strips of Shaded Spruce card stock. If you fold along the 1-1/2″ score line you will find a very thin section of card stock . This thin section will sit on your cut out trees when the triangle is made.
  • To form triangle face the 1/2″ section inward and place glue on it. As you can see this small section has formed a tab. And if you have securedd the fold lines your strip will look like an open triangle.
  • Place glue on that thin fold.
  • Now place the tip of the triangle on the back side of the die cut  trees you stamped. I used my bone folder to help make sure the thin section was laying flat on the tree.
  • If you create a triangle with both strips and glue each triangle on a stamped gie cut tree you willl have a top of a tree shaped box and a bottom of a tree shaped box.
  • you can fill the box and decorate how ever you wish.
