Saturday Sketches

As a challenge I often look for a sketch that inspires or challenges me to create a card or project. On page 22 of the Annual Catalog there are some sketches. This week I adapted this sketch and used some ingredients from the February Paper Pumpkin to create a card.

I used  this card sketch for page 22 of the annual catalog.

Welcome The Textured Notes Dies. They are a new Online Exclusive item. This set includes a variety of rectangles in different sizes, each with a gorgeously unique die-cut border design. I can use these dies to decorate card fronts or create tags or photo backgrounds for scrapbook spreads.

Here is what I did to make my card.

  • I used the second to the largest die (Textured Notes Dies), and placed it on a 4″x 5″ piece of the BoHo Blue card front from the February Paper Pumpkin ingredients and ran it through my Cut &  Emboss machine. I love how the edges of the blue layer look stitched.
  • After adhering this blue layer to the card front I used a circle die  (Spotlight on Nature Circle Dies) and cut a window on the front of the card. With a circle die one size bigger than the die used to cut the window, I cut a frame for the window.
  • On the middle of the inside of the card I used the chives stamp from the stamp set in the Paper Pumpkin to stamp an image. (I used Granny Apple Green ink for the chives). I also used the bloom stamp and Melon Mambo ink to stamp the blooms on the chives.
  • I used some twine from my stash to embellish and then stamped the image again with a stamp from the stamp set in the Paper Pumpkin.
If you find yourself not feeling creative consider looking for a sketch to jump start your creativity.
