Our new Annual Catalog is about to go live and I am getting ready for all the wonderful new products. To do that I want to sort through what I currently have in my studio. I am rearranging and/or addressing some of my storage solutions.
I have been storing my DSP in those plastic cases that are great for storing scrapbook kits and specialty paper for the scrapbook pages. That has served me up until recently. I am now finding that it is not so easy to store the 6” x 6” DSP that way. I wanted to be able to store the special paper on a shelf with all the information about the DSP. So I decided to research other ways to store my DSP.
Then Ronda Wade shared her way of storing her 6” x 6” DSP. In a video she shared how she made envelopes to store the DSP. So I was curious. I tried the envelope and thought that could possibly work for me. I soon realized that I could possibly use a lot more of my thick Basic White card stock then I probably wanted to. I was contemplating using retired cardstock and decided against the ideas as I didn’t want so many different colors on my shelf.
Then I saw a video by Maymay and she made an envelope very similar to the one Ronda Wade shared except she used 12” x 12” cardstock to create her style of envelope. Then I had a vision.
I can use all the tagboard that comes in the 12” x 12” DSP packages and make the envelopes. I will use the label on the back of the package to identify the DSP information. With my label maker I will label the side of the envelope. I can also store all the scraps in the back of the envelope. So, I did end up using the measurements shared by Maymay. I also have some poster boards that I can also use.
Here is my finished storage solution.
